DLP-RF1-Z and DLP-RF2-Z 2.4GHz are IEEE 802.15.4 Compliant, ZigBee™ (-Z) ready transceivers. These RF transceiver modules are designed to enable wireless networking within a home, office, or factory environment by replacing the wiring typically found between a microcontroller/DSP/FPGA, etc. and host PC.
Royalty-free Virtual Com Port (VCP) drivers are provided that make the DLP-RF1-Z transceiver look like a standard Windows/Linux/Mac RS232C port to the user’s host program. The DLP-RF2-Z can either directly connect to user electronics via analog/digital I/O lines or interface to the user's microcontroller via serial interface.
The units come preprogrammed with DLP Design’s Serial Interface - packet Processor (SIPP™) firmware based upon Freescale’s SMAC RF IC control firmware. If the SIPP™ firmware does not meet the requirements of the project at hand, then the BDM interface is available for reprogramming the microcontroller with user firmware.
